Overtime Allowance for Group C & D railway servant
- Overtime allowance is an allowance paid to railway servants for actual time worked in excess of the hours of employment prescribed by any law or rule.
- All overtime pay will be at a rate 25 per cent in excess of the monthly rate of pay of the employee. Each half-hour or part of half an hour exceeding 15 minutes will be reckoned as half an hour.
- Employees should be called on overtime work, only if it is urgently required. and employees should be called on overtime on rotational basis, so that it is not the same person who is doing the overtime.
- Calculation
1st 6hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00686=One hour OT
Rest hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00915=One hour OT
For Example- Person 'A' worked for 10 excess hours
OT for first 6 Hrs
(35400+3186+1800)*0.00686=277.04796 (This is for 1Hr)
OT for 6 hours=277.04796*6=1662.28
For rest of the 4 Hrs
(35400+3186+1800)*0.00915=369.53
OT for 4 Hrs=369.53*4=1478.12
Total OT earned by employee=1662.28+1478.12=3140.4~3140Rs
Group 'D' staff
1st 3hours
Rest hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00915=One hour OT
For Example- Person 'A' worked for 10 excess hours
OT for first 6 Hrs
(35400+3186+1800)*0.00686=277.04796 (This is for 1Hr)
OT for 6 hours=277.04796*6=1662.28
For rest of the 4 Hrs
(35400+3186+1800)*0.00915=369.53
OT for 4 Hrs=369.53*4=1478.12
Total OT earned by employee=1662.28+1478.12=3140.4~3140Rs
Group 'D' staff
1st 3hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00486=One hour OT
Rest hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00648=One hour OT
Rest hours
(Basic+DA+TA)*0.00648=One hour OT
